CARE FOR SENIORS- Travis Childers is deeply committed to improving the lives of our senior citizens. Care for our seniors is a passion that Travis and his family share. It was that commitment to our seniors that led Travis, his wife Tami, and their children to use their own money to renovate the old abandoned high school building in their hometown into a badly needed, state-of-the-art assisted living facility, so seniors in their community could live out their lives close to home. As congressman, Travis will fight to protect Social Security , oppose privatization, and expand in-home care programs for seniors.

ACCESS TO QUALITY, AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE-  Travis Childers will fight to improve the quality of healthcare, while lowering costs for working families.  He supports expanding the State Children's Health Insurance Program (S-CHIP), which will provide affordable healthcare to tens of thousands of middle-income children in Mississippi .

PROGRESS BEFORE POLITICS:  Travis Childers knows that so much of the success that North Mississippi has had in economic development, education and healthcare is due largely to the fact that local officials in this region recognize that our fate is a shared fate.   Travis understands the importance of  working across regional, governmental, and party lines to get things done for North Mississippi. As congressman, he will take our North Mississippi spirit of cooperation and can-do attitude to Washington.  Travis Childers will work with members of both parties - liberals, moderates and conservatives - to get things done for North Mississippi and get America moving in the right direction.
